Types of Rentals
a) Short-term Rental (up to 30 days)

- Digital nomads are not required to register their residence for short-term rentals.
b) Long-term Rental (over 30 days)
- Requires signing a rental agreement (preferably in written form).
- Agreements may be standard or include occasional rental clauses, which are more advantageous for the property owner.
- Digital nomads are obligated to adhere to the terms of the agreement, including paying utility bills and rent on time.
Residence Registration
a) Temporary or Permanent Residence Registration
- Individuals staying in Poland for more than 30 days are formally required to register their place of residence (temporary or permanent).
- Registration is not mandatory for legal residence in Poland but may be useful for activities like opening a bank account, applying for a PESEL number, or accessing public healthcare.
b) Registration Process
- The property owner can assist in the registration process, but digital nomads can also do it independently at the city or municipal office.
- Documents required for registration include: a rental agreement, proof of identity, and a residence registration form.
Taxes on Rentals
- Property owners renting out real estate are required to pay rental income tax (either a flat rate or income tax).
- Digital nomads are not directly responsible for these taxes unless they are renting properties as part of a business activity.
Renting from Private Owners vs. Real Estate Agencies
- Renting from Private Owners: Often cheaper but less formal.
- Real Estate Agencies: Provide support in negotiations, drafting agreements, and verifying properties.
